Read's collage illustrations give big personalities to the sly fox and the (seemingly) helpless hens, despite the spare text of the book. Get kids involved (and slow down the pace) by counting the items on each page. The twist ending makes even adults smile.

I was all about this book....until the end. I thought it was an excellent take on a counting book but then we went from 10 to 100....and I was almost unsure how that happened.
Still, I enjoy seeing counting books that have a story to them as this one did.

Love books with a surprise ending. You probably can see this one coming but it's just so fun!

How easily very few words can be used to tell an entire story full of suspense!

This is a fun and humorous book that switches up our perspective on the sly fox.

A counting book with a story! And a clever one at that!
