I wish I'd written this review while the book was fresh in my mind!!!

Like the first book in the series, I give Call of the Canyon 4.5 stars.

We pick up right where Ms. Pennick left off at the end of Waiting For Dusk. Drew is now in Katie's time and Katie is over the moon. Her father has managed to get Drew set up staying with Katie's BFF Lyndsey's family. (Except she insists that everyone call her Kate now.)

So much happens in this book! Lots that I loved and some that I didn't care for.

I loved that Kate and Drew sort of had a happily ever after starting up, but I really don't see how any parents could let their 16 year old (immature) daughter get married. Even if it is a love across time, even if they don't get married in the present time... it just rubs me the wrong way.

That's about all the bad I can say about this book from what I remember.

There is so much depth that is added that wasn't there in the first. We learn more about how the time travelers actions affect the people in 1927. We learn that someone from the past is still alive and remembers Kate from her visits to the past, which was very, very cool! We learn more about Kate's parents as well as Maya and Carl. We even learn some secrets about Drew!

The ending? Oh boy! You are in for a ride. Katie and Drew are put to the ultimate test and it truly is a matter of life or death.

If you want to find out if Drew and Kate get their happily ever after you have to read the book! I absolutely recommend it.

Can't wait until the third book, Stealing Time is released!
