2.5 stars. Although I enjoyed the writing style, the conclusion of this story fell flat. Very flat. There was potential there and it just never happened. Disappointed.

This book has a little bit of everything: romance, mystery, medical drama and a town full of wonderful characters! It's so fun to go back and read older books of a beloved author

I wanted to like this book a lot and in some ways I did. But there wasn't a whole lot to the story and at times it was meandering and slow. It had potential.

Maybe I just wasn't ready for this book as it reminded me of themes that I recently read in Michelle Huneven's Off Course, but I wasn't feeling this one. Where it did succeed for me was Sylvia and her part of the story. Good book, not for me.

I think I liked the characters and the set up, but I wasn't particularly engaged, and the ending sort of wrapped up oddly.

Did not enjoy. This is my second use miller book and I felt the same way I did after The Senator's Wife. Early on the book was interesting but then it just dwindled to an end.

I really enjoyed the simplicity and home town feel of this book. When things get overwhelming, I think it can be refreshing to read a simple book. The problems faced in this book are mostly everyday problems and the arsons are discussed just like they would be in any small town: gossip. There was a definite feeling of home in these pages.
