“He's more like me, I think: burdened with the realization that what goes on his mind is somehow different from what goes on everyone else's. Even those close to us. And how you can't think about that for too long, because that thought- the truth of your own isolation- is too much to bear."

tell me three things is honestly one of the best YA romances i've ever read, and those are all i've been reading for the past couple months. i didn't go into it with high hopes because i'm not super into the whole "anonymous letter" thing in books, but i'm so glad i picked this up.

jessie is a perfect main character; i've never read about someone quite like her. she was so down-to-earth and relatable it made me feel like an actual character in the book. buxbaum has managed to capture teenage girlhood perfectly. we experience jessie trying to find a way to fit into a new world that doesn't seem to have a place for her, while still holding onto her mother when it seems like her Dad has completely moved on.

every character is interesting and complex, and i found myself enjoying the plot more than i normally do. (i'm a sucker for romance, sue me.)

5/5 stars, highly highly reccomend

It's like a little less than mid... Like I don't necessarily like the characters or the fast paces development between them, however... the trope and cause of romance are cute. I would have preferred more of a slow burn for this type of romantic trope. The progression of her using SN as her anchor was just too fast and ill-developed for my liking... like girl please have some self-respect.

If the story had better characters with more complex thoughts and more detailed development, I would fawn over the book. It was a decent read though so all is well that ends well.

really sweet idea, and found ‘somebody nobody’ and jessie really cute. even though the secret admirer trope isn’t my favourite (and at some points did feel a tiny bit stalkerish), i found it so romantic , and loved the reveal and build up. wished we saw a bit more of her friends (and why that agnes girl had weird vibes), but did really like the family aspect in it.
