Fun while it lasted. Reminds me of some of the choose your adventure horror books I read as a kid.

It took me a couple of play-throughs to finally get the good ending, but I did it! The writing was descriptive-- sometimes to an extreme point that detracted from the story in my opinion-- and the story was a basic zombie tale. The character you play as is a very generic guy, which isn't too relatable to me, but it was easy enough to get into his mindset. Not too extravagant, but definitely entertaining!

This is my first experience with this kind of book. It works quite well in Kindle format, too.

It's a zombie story, but in this version, the "zombie-ness" is caused by a "miracle drug" developed by a couple of doctors, called "Gilgazyme." It's supposed to alter your genes and make you immortal. Well, it kind of does, but not in a good way. It turns people into flesh-eating zombies.

Right off the bat, you get to make choices. Do you sign up to take the drug? Or do you stay away from it? Do you hide out? Or do you attempt to take down the company from the inside? At the end of each short chapter, there is a choice. You click on the link of the choice and it takes you to another chapter.

I'm pretty sure I did not read all 352 pages of the book. But I did complete three different story lines and had three different endings, two of them bad. I never went back to the previous chapter to select a different choice to see what would have happened. So my third attempt, which ended with a good ending, was legit.

It's fun, and pretty exciting, as well. It is fast-paced, and never boring. There is also a good bit of humor in the story, as well, along with a few shout-outs to some other well-known franchises.

I recommend this for a fun diversion, especially if you're stuck inside during the pandemic of 2020.

Ok, this was pretty awesome. Choose your own adventure style, and the zombie apocalypse has begun. I look forward to going back through this at a later time and picking a different strain of choices. Highly recommended for folks that have fond memories of choose your own adventure and are suckers for zombie plagues.

Well, well, well, that was certainly more fun than I expected. My first attempt ended in this:

"Okay, so you died. Don’t beat yourself up over it, 95% of everyone die during the zombie apocalypse. That’s why it’s called an apocalypse. If everyone lived, it’d be called a “zombiepalooza.”

But my second attempt ended in me being a survivor and carrying the cure ... woooohoooooo!!!! This book has 50 possible endings! I have read choose-your-own books before and this one has been by far the best one. Despite having short chapters for each step in the journey, the depth of the characters got deeper the further you made it in the journey. I was able to picture myself in the situation.

Great job, Mr. Schannep!!!

This is the first in the Click Your Poison series. It is the adult version of the Choose Your Own Adventures books that many of us read as kids. The premise of this book is that a medication on the market is designed to cure everything with the nasty side effect of turning people into zombies.

As the reader progresses through the story, they may or may not turn into a zombie. I read through several times picking all kinds of combinations. The results are always humorous. There were a few sections that as I read I couldn't believe what was written. The book is very much not for the easily offended or squeamish.
