Great read overall but I’m sticking thinking there’s a possible plot hole?
This book filled all the aspects I felt weren’t included in the first Will Trent novel, but I felt it still lacked things? The story felt jumpy as though Slaughter focused a bit too much on some topics/people and so when things were revealed it felt awkward? I can clearly see how Warren was involved but Evan felt shoved in? Also with Adam during the abduction, unless I missed it- I don’t understand why he didn’t fight back more when Emma was being abducted?? Like he was stabbed then just stood there while Warren grabbed Emma? Or did he simply drop next to Kayla? Not sure how else to describe it so I’ll give this a solid 4/5 stars. Great book that I couldn’t but down.

Karin Slaughter has developed a really compelling character in Will Trent. The second book in the series had a few interesting wrinkles, and it was really fun that many scenes took place at my alma mater.

Started reading hardcover from the library, finished on Kindle while traveling (it's very chunky to carry around)
Graphic: Rape, Kidnapping, Adult/minor relationship, Blood, Murder, and Death

Favorite in the series so far - less about weird sex shit and more about figuring out whodunnit.
