Meh. There's nothing wrong with this book. Perhaps it gets better later in the book, but I was just sooooo bored I had to stop.

The meet was not cute, the couple really didn't have any chemistry, and there wasn't a plot. It was just the story of two people meeting in a bar and going on dates.

I really enjoyed Drunk on Love so it surprised me how much I didn’t enjoy this.
I had a lot of comments while reading but ultimately their relationship was shallow and the drama felt forced.

I really enjoyed this one. I can’t decide if The Wedding Date or Party of Two is my favorite of the 5.

As a seasoned romance reader I thought this book had a lot of potential based on the plot depicted in the blurb - diverse characters with interesting careers and I was interested to see how they would mesh. Guillory creates a strong (though also annoying) female character but then struggles to give any sense of depth to the male protagonist. There’s nothing here in terms of plot, I’m honestly not sure how I made it through 200 pages of “and then they went here, and then they did this” before giving up on this book. The only conflict for the first 75% of the story is an internal one with the female character which is entirely composed of “I shouldn’t like him but I do” with no real justification of why she shouldn’t. The entire character development for the male character is derived from when they finally have an argument and she points out that he should be less impulsive. Then he magically becomes a less impulsive person and they live happily ever after.
It’s safe to say I wouldn’t recommend this book or this author.
