Getting Schooled by Christina C. Jones

I knew I wanted to try Christina C. Jones after seeing glowing reviews but was overwhelmed by her massive backlist. Once I heard that Getting Schooled was a contemporary romance set in academia, I knew it would be the perfect starting place. Reese is a graduate assistant and Jason is a non-traditional student, getting his degree after being discharged from the military. They decidedly do not hit it off at first and there’s some great snarky back and forth between them, but as they get to know each other, that initial spark of animosity changes into something more friendly, if no less incendiary. The plot lost some momentum for me towards the end as the conflict fizzled, but ten points for chemistry!

I love this book and the characters. Reese and Jay's communication is quite impressive. Ohhh! I loved the bar scene, lmaoo I think I read it 3times. This is a 3.5 for me.

Loved this one! Nice new spin on your typical college romance with a grad student (26) and an army vet student (28). I also loved that their was no unnecessary third act breakup or drama!

Easy read. Cute story about when opposites attract. I felt like the characters weren’t that fleshed out, because the book was only 14 chapters long. I’m not really a fan of rom-com books, so I won’t be reading the rest of the series.
