This was so much fun! If you're looking for an engrossing mystery, this might not be the book for you, as the first third of the book is the plot set up, but I enjoyed myself anyway. The details of the period are thorough but not forced, and the characters and dialects beautifully done. If Ms. Kellgren hadn't already made me smile whenever she read the parts of Princess Honey and the Baroness, she wold have won me over with Fiona. The ending kept me listening at every spare moment.
While this was not the first in the series, I had no trouble picking right up with Georgie's life and her love interest.

On the one hand, I really liked numerous parts of this book. The mystery was better for me than the first book even, as for once I didn't actually guess it until the end, surprisingly. I really loved the cozy aspects of this book, how the mystery is more of a slow burn kinda deal. I enjoyed the historical fiction aspects and I just LOVE Georgie, she's the best.
I could have done without 1) Georgie's jealousy over Hanni flirting with Darcy and 2) the attempted rape. There was literally NO NEED for that and that always pisses me off, so the book lost itself a star. But I do really love this series and I wish I had the third one here with me to read!

Rushed to a sudden end. I was suspicious as things were happening but I didn't feel satisfied by it and the explanations of what had happened

Part of an end-of-February knitting blitz (to finish a project by the end of the month) so it's all a bit of a blur.

One of my favorite mystery series! I absolutely adore Georgie and am in love with Darcy O'Mara. The pacing is great and she keeps you guessing till the end!
