E o final surpreendeu-me.
Gostei.

It was a very somber read about Marjane Satrapi’s uncle and his life. Well, really about how his life ended.

Have you ever been haunted by a relative you've never met?

My mother was haunted by the uncle who stole her grandfather's inheritance and disappeared before she was born- until the very day his body showed up to their town, returned to be laid to rest. She said that seeing his face before they closed and lowered the casket gave her the sense that she could finally stop being haunted by the thought of never having known what he looked like.

My sister was quite literally haunted as a child by the faceless figure of a 6-foot tall man who wore proper suits and hats, that eventually we figured out was the very same great-grandfather whose fortune was stolen by his son.

I've been haunted by the 6-foot stature that neither of my great-grandfather's gave to me.

Point is, I get Satrapi. I applaud her for writing something I could only hope to one day.

After reading Persepolis I thought about reading something else by Satrapi. This month I found out this comic in one of the libraries of my town, so I read it. The story is about Nasser Ali, a musician, and his search for another tar. We follow him for eight days to discover many details about his life. It was an interesting reading, quite similar in style to Persepolis. I really enjoyed its reading.
