I've got to admit that I struggled quite a bit with this book. Not because it was a bad book, but because I felt really disconnected from the story and the characters.

There's a lot of discourse surrounding adults reading YA and then getting frustrated when they can't relate to the characters. I'm not going to do that right now. I can't objectively be upset with a YA for having characters that I no longer relate to (or really, never related to because I was never someone who went to uni or struggled with my sexuality). However, it did feel like it was written for a very, very niched-down audience, and I was not the target.

None of these characters were particularly likable to me (aside from Sunil, who is a gem). I realize that there was a lot of growth that needed to happen throughout the story, but even by the end, I felt myself getting more frustrated with them than impressed by their development.

There were some really tender moments in this book that made my heart soar, and that's why I gave this a higher rating than I originally intended. However, for the most part, I felt like this was a very time-consuming story that wasn't intended for me and that's perfectly alright. I know that the target audience will benefit quite a lot from a book like this!

Is it really a good book if it doesn't give you a sexuality crisis? No. I can safely this is a very good book. I felt seen and accepted by the words of this story. Beautiful.

I literally haven’t stopped crying. It’s not even that it’s a depressing book, it was just so beautiful. They way these characters were written… they were alive on the page. I felt as if I could walk into a random coffee shop and see them there. They weren’t just in the reality that Alice Oseman created, they were in my reality too.
The way In which the author dealt with the theme of coming of age and discovering sexuality was so tragically human. The characters made mistakes while trying to discover themselves, and while these mistakes helped them in their journey, they were acknowledged as being inherently bad. The ability to appreciate mistakes and realise the consequences that come from them is the true beauty of humanity and I believe that this was perfectly portrayed in Alice Oseman’s “Loveless”

All Alice Oseman books are lovely and this is no exception. It tells the story of a girl discovering that she is aromantic asexual during college. Also includes a lesbian and a woman discovering that she is pansexual.

Definitely one of my new favorites.  This book was amazing.  It was so relatable and I was not expecting that.  All the characters were detailed and lovely to read about.  Following not only Georgia but her friends finding themselves was something I didn’t even know I needed to read.

As someone who thrives off of fanfiction, I loved all the comments about fanfics so much.

The humor was great and the more serious moments were done really well.  I just really loved this book.  The friendships were beautiful.  It really showed you didn’t need a romantic, you could have platonic relationships and that is that.

Strongly suggest this for anyone who wants a lighthearted read with a happy ending, someone who might be in or questioning the ace community, people who want a realistic and relatable read that has amazing platonic relationships.
