I really didn't finish the book, I just wanted it out of my queue. It wasn't terrible, it actually was quite a brilliant idea. Just executed poorly and quite boring.

Rounding up to a 4 -- light and fun.

Clovenhoof is well written (especially considering that it wasn't published by a big publishing house) with some clever jokes in it. The characters also becomes surprisingly likeable by the end of the book. It wasn't my cup of tea, but mainly because I don't usually prefer to read humourous, light books. I would definitely recommend it to those who *do* like reading books in the humor genre, and I also think that Clovenhoof would make a very funny sitcom :)

This book was perfect for me. The sarcasm, the dark humour, the sheer Britishness of the jokes. I can’t believe I left it on my TBR list for so long.

If you’re a fan of the things listed above, you’re going to adore Clovenhoof.

An absolute gem of a book. Think this is the only book that has ever made me laugh out loud but then what would you expect when your reading about a lambrini, findus crispy pancake loving satan. An extremely humorous read.

The premise is fun, but at one point you start wondering what is the point of all these anecdotes and how they serve the story. And I found it hard to connect with any of the characters as none of them are in the slightest way likable.
However, at the end of the day, it is a fun read, with good flow and good writing.

Absolutely loved it! Witty throughout with quintessential English humour that is sadly rather rare to find, this book was a pleasure to read and had me laughing aloud uncontrollably many times. I have recommended this book to friends and look forward to reading the sequel, Pigeonwings.

Predictable and silly. Riffs on the devil-sent-to-earth trope without really bringing something new or interesting to the party. Cute, but not engaging enough to persuade me to read further in this series.
