This series started out as a guilty pleasure but with each book it got better. The plot started to have substance and the romance went from something angsty and smutty to passionate and romantic.
But still smutty, of course ;)
The ending to this book was perfect. Such a nice and cute way to wrap up everything. I’m so happy I read this series and I had way more fun than I thought I would.
10/10 would read again and again.

This series had so much potential and I really do have a soft spot for the MCs and overall storyline. However I just think it could have been slightly better executed. In this book in particular, Callie’s inner monologue was just driving me crazy with how cringe and juvenile it sounded. I get that we’re supposed to interpret it as sassiness but it was just too much.

It came out as 4 stars because I didn't like how it ended. I still thoroughly enjoyed the series as a whole. Probably my favorite series of the year.

4 stars simply because the ending wasn't wrapped up as tidy as I had hoped when it came to the world around Des & Callie. What of the other Kingdoms? Mara?? What happens with Temper? Malaki? sigh
All 4 books in this series have made me cry at least once. 5/5
