This book and its teachings came into my life at the exact moment I needed it. My awakening process has begun. Life is Love. All else is an illusion made "real" by our ego which thrives on fear. Love yourself, love everyone, for we are all one ❤ The Holy Spirit lives within each of us for we are not separate but whole. One consciousness ❤ Love is the answer and the only thing that is truly real. Love yourself first and everything else will fall into place.

I haven’t read ACIM yet and found this to be a great amuse-bouche! Many focus areas of ACIM are covered and underlined with stories and experiences by the author in a way that made me curious to read ACIM and dive deeper. It also includes 1:1 excerpts from ACIM with explanations which were really helpful as the language used in ACIM seems to not be easy to grasp without reflection.

Great intro to ACIM. it's been on my radar for a long time but never felt able to commit and was worried about the Christianity side of it. This book gives a great intro the the teachings and the course and addresses many concerns people have. It isn't a replacement for doing to course but a great read if you're on the fence about whether ACIM is for you before committing. Really glad I read it. And the audio narration was lovely. He just speaks really slow so I listened on 2.5 speed 😅

I consider myself an open-minded Christian. Open to new thoughts, ideas, and even open to learning from other faith traditions. I believe some truth can be found in all things. Thus, I gave the controversial "A Course in Miracles" a try. I approached it with an open mind hoping to learn. To be fair, I did find some things that resonated with me. Some things that seemingly affirmed much of what the Christian tradition teaches. However, in most parts I found it to be so completely different from what Jesus taught that I couldn't, as a Christian, honestly agree with it. Here are just a few examples:
ACIM teaches that there is no sin. Sin is merely perceived and created in our own minds. That if and when we do sin against others, that we really actually didn't sin against them. And, no forgiveness is needed.
ACIM teaches that we are God, that when we hear the voice of God we are actually hearing from ourselves.
ACIM teaches that there is no "savior" outside of ourselves, thus making Jesus null and void.
ACIM teaches that the world around us is merely an illusion. That we have the power to create our own world each day. We are in control.
I can go on. But, I found much of ACIM to be a smorgasbord of spiritual soup. A mixture of Christian ideas, New Age thoughts, and with a tablespoon of psychology thrown in. While I don't have a problem with these things, it just isn't for me.

Great introduction to ACIM. I'm tackling ACIM over the course of this year, so I figured this would be a like prep to get me into it and help guide me through. It was a nice way to orient my practice.
