A solid sequel. Loved the characters. Fantasy elements left something to be desired. Enjoyed this duology overall.

The last two chapters are the only reason I added 3 stars. Book didn’t really catch my interest, super predictable, didn’t fall in love with any of the characters. Couldn’t wait to stop reading it, then got to the last two chapters and had some interest but it’s the end of the book so.🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I didn't want this one to end.  What a fun story.

No one is more disappointed about this rating for this book than I am. The only thing that saved it to even get this high of a rating is the fact that Rebecca Ross is a beautiful writer. If anyone else had written this, I think I would have dnf’d it.

I just wanted more. I want more information about the gods. I want more information about the magic. I want more information about the war. I want to know if we are supposed to be in an England-like place (so much tea being served and clearly WWI / WWII vibes) or an American-like place (baseball????? What??????). And as with my review for Divine Rivals, what is the time period? We have all the old timey things, but then roadsters and telephones. Please give me something!!

I also wanted more Iris and Roman. They spent almost the entire book separated for what?

Either I needed more of the romance (Roman and Iris are in the same place for not even 24 hours of this book before the epilogues) or more information on the world.

Beautiful! Just as with Divine Rivals the writing is extraordinarily beautiful. I enjoyed learning more about the gods and the reasons behind the war in this book. I also enjoyed that this one was a little more steamy than the last. The only reason this one didn’t hit the 5 star mark for me was after about 2/3 way through it became predictable. Still good, but I was hoping for a little more intrigue and character growth in the final chapters. However, this could also be because I am typically a long series type reader and this is a duology.

The narrators of this series are perfection! I highly recommend this audio!
