I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book but it has been so lovely to read. It’s exploration of wrong and right and the experience of denial vs facing reality. Beautiful

Was slow to start but picked up. Quite sad.

The fact that it's 4am when I'm writing this should hint at how unable I was to put it down. I just read the last 240 pages in one sitting which for someone with the attention span of a toddler is pretty good going.

The beginning was a little slow but it soon became so gripping I couldn't put it down. Basically the story of how powerful a mother's love can be - right, wrong or indifferent. I hope the movie can halfway live up to the book!

Probably more like 4.5 stars. I really liked this one. Explored the nuances between right and wrong, past and future, stabile and fluid. Very good.

This was a haunting story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife..I don't want to give away the plot, but ultimately I felt it was about the conflict between duty and love , and the consequences for everybody when the heart is allowed to rule the head. There were real moral dilemmas here and a lot of heartbreak. Beautiful..
