A story told in such a captivating way, that only teaching for the tissue box could break its spell. Thank you Uncle Archie, for sharing your life, your work & your spirit with readers.

A beautiful memoir. The audiobook is fantastic as Roach narrates and also plays a song at the beginning of some chapters. He definitely knows how to tell a story. I can’t remember being quite so moved by a story.

While reading the book is great, I strongly recommend listening to the audiobook. You sit at a kitchen table with Archie as he narrates his story, the sound of birds chirping in the distance. He also plays songs and guitar riffs. It's immersive and even more powerful. Thank you Uncle Archie for sharing your stories.

Tell Me Why is a stunning account of resilience and the strength of spirit ... and of a love story.
Its an autobiography and provides insight of the current topic of the Aboriginal history of Australia told by an Aboriginal.
I heard the audio version. This unusual and special audio production features acoustic samplings from the songs featured, throughout the book, and, at the beginning of each chapter. This provided insight and the background of his music. Apart from Archie being a talented musician, he is an articulate member of the Stolen Generation. I quote the Australian: "this is a phenomenal work by one of the most articulate and recognizable members of the Stolen Generations."

An amazing life - such resilience in the face of adversity. A beautiful but often exasperating story. The inter generational trauma of indigenous people in Australia is something we need to acknowledge and accept. The reading by Archie was poignant and beautiful and mesmerizing
