This is the first time I'm reading Sally Rooney and I know a lot of people don't like her writing style and the quotations thing, but I really liked it!! The story really flowed, allowing you to be completely immersed in the characters. To me, it's amazing that she managed to make me care about these characters in just 15 pages. Now I need to go read Normal People😂🤞

I think I got my Marianne and Connell content in the wrong order. I started with the Hulu short series, which I watched in that first summer when everyone was watching it. Then I read Normal People in January, and finally, I've come to this story. First of all, I love Sally Rooney's writing style. I don't think this story was as moving as some of her others, but her writing! Each word is so perfectly and thoughtfully placed. She can make mundane settings absolutely extraordinary.Â
