Those of you who know me, are aware of my hang up about endings. Now while I don't have a good friend of mine's obssession with endings needing to be unhappy, I felt that the fairytale ending to this one was a little unbearable. I mean the guy is a split entity of warring halves, with the God of Death hounding him to pay up, and a whole slew of people wishing him dead or at least gone and yet he makes the idyllic life in the end.
The Farseer and Mad Ship series with their bittersweet endings were realistic and if not heartening at least provided some small measure of satisfaction for the protagonists that lived. This ending in contrast is simply too difficult to swallow.
Don't get me wrong. Hobb is still a fun writer, worth the entertainment of a good read. I just wouldn't recommend this series to a first time reader of her work.

Una trilogía muy especial para mí. La segunda mitad del libro es imparable.

This was a though series to get in to. Worth it in the end but quite slow.

A great ending for this series. Took an unexpected turn in the middle, but really enjoyed how it all worked out.
