4.2 stars BUT 5 STARS FOR XUE XIAN ALONE.
Where do I even start? Xue Xian, our mc is a centuries old dragon. Basically, a grandpa of grandpa of grnadpas dragon. He is proud (I would be too if I were the almighty dragon and could bring rain and storm) and a clown. Everything he does is so dramatic, even the other characters call him drama queen. He makes the story lively, provides warmth and comfort. But that reminds me he has been alone for hundreds of years which makes me sad at times. BUT IT'S OKAY BECAUSE I AM HERE TO PROTECT HIM AND SO IS XUANMIN.
I know people say there romance starts suddenly and doesn't make sense. Have you even read the novel? They start from completely different strangers, though having some connection from past, to slowly caring about each other. As they go on more adventure, their bond grows stronger and they don't even realize when they fell in love with each other. Something about this feels very natural and raw and sweet.
The plot is weaved nicely. Everything connects and makes sense. There are lots of potential angst. The side stories, knives if sharpened, would stab you so deeply. But Mu Su Li stops it right after the knife tears the skin and draws out the knife. The pain stops as soon as you feel it.
AND DID I SAY? COPPER COINS HAS THE HAPPIEST OF HAPPY ENDING, THE MOST SATISFYING ENDING EVER IN A NOVEL??? READ THE NOVEL TO FIND OUT HOW GOOD IT IS.

this was really sweet and interesting, being the first musuli work that i read. it's really fairytale-ish, which i loved! i'm not sure if this is musuli's earlier work or not, but the writing style did get repetitive (which the translator also held frustrations over). the main pairing's dynamic is so so cute and their build-up was so good. plot-wise not the strongest i've read, in my opinion, but it felt novel and was mysterious and enjoyable nonetheless.

I really liked this one! The dragon Xue Xian is understandably arrogant, but in a funny rather than an annoying way. The developing relationship with Xuanmin felt realistic and warm and had lots of cute moments. The last few chapters were a sort of epilogue with more details about their life together once they were together, and I really liked that. It was super cute. I feel a bit sorry for their traumatized pet crow that keeps flying in on them, but not that sort, since it's super funny.
