Real page turner, although historically not 100% accurate. But it left me in tears so I would totally recommend it

This book has left my heart in pieces. I knew what would happen (Achilles' fate is addressed in this book and I had some vague knowledge of Achilles' story beforehand), but I nothing could have prepared me for the heartbreak and the aftermath. A wonderfully written story of friendship, love, loyalty, pride, and war.

I honestly expected a little more from all the hype this book is getting lately, but it’s a good book nonetheless. Maybe I just didn’t find it that special since I already knew the story and how everything was going to unravel having read the Iliad.

Despite knowing the original story, the way it is written is truly a treasure. I don't know how to describe how this book makes you feel but it's just beautiful. A reading for the vibes more than for the plot.

Honestly such a great book. I didn’t love the war aspect, which is something I knew I wouldn’t like going in. I wanted to see what the hype was about and honestly it’s a good book. The romance seems natural and we get to see it’s progression over many years.
Spoiler I really enjoyed the end of the book too, despite the war arc, where you get to see the fatal flaws of the characters really come to light and then how no one truely has a say in how they are remembered after death
