so i didn't wanna give into the hype surrounding this book. i didn't wanna read it and hate it so i put it off for so long. but when i finally read it i feel in love. the writing is beautiful miss maddie really has a way with words. the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus was mwah beautiful chef's kisses obviously with its flaws. I cried at the ending like a baby i can't lie. i may end up rating this 5 stars in the future if i keep thinking about this book but for now it's 4.75. there were just a few aspects i felt were longed out. 

I can see why some wouldn't enjoy this or think it's soul-shattering and that's okay. I get it and feel like I'll never be complete again

Though it fits the style and I understand what the author went for at times it does drag on a bit too much.

It is good, yes. and the writing is amazing but like idk. it didn't knock me out like everyone claimed it would. maybe the hype ruined this book for me. And though I knew how it would end because I was familiar with the actual legend I still couldn't help but feel like the ending was unsatisfactory.
