Sweet story but seriously wanted to smack the heck out of the heroine through almost the whole thing!

The development behind the setting, the plot, the characters, their choices, etc etc did not exist in this book. It was as if it was written in stream of consciousness, not read over, not edited, and sent right to the presses. The sentences were choppy, the story line moved forward without any development whatsoever and the characters would voice an opinion and then forget about it the next second only to bring it up five chapters later, ONLY TO FORGET ABOUT IT AGAIN.

There were multiple times I stopped reading. I mean, the prologue was so well written. I don't know if it was because it was the mind of a writer speaking that it actually felt like a proper book that would keep my interest, but as soon as Mia started talking the writing quality went kaput and I wanted to die. I loved Will, his personality was enthralling, lovable, and captivating. He was the only good part of this book. With better writing he could have been magnificent.

2.5 The main character was one of the worst I have ever read. She was basically an arrogant jerk. I was so excited to read about a girl running a cafe in New York. But it was not what I've hoped. Also the pacing was all over the place.

I’ll follow the trail on my own,
and hope that something sets me free.
The darkness falls fast without warning,
just left with my soul to captain me.
But there’s someone waiting for me in the morning,
pulling me into the light so I can see.
He knows my face in the darkness,
he knows my hopes, my reverie
But he’s waiting for me to find him,
so that I can set him free.
So I let go and let him in.
Everything dissipates into feeling,
we allow our souls to meet.
We’re the static in the chaos,
the one thing… the something so sweet

Okay, The protagonist's name is WILL and he is a musician, and above that he's kind, sweet and very very honest about his feelings, so what not to love.

And for Mia, well her struggles were real, they came from a very similar situation that she had lived it her entire life, so you couldn't blame her for her decisions, especially the frustrating ones, and those were a lot.

Renee, she's growing on me, I've become more and more attached to her writing and that is something I haven't felt for a while..

I heard a lot of good things about this book, everyone seems to love it and I was excited to read it. The story is beautiful and I really loved. My only problem with it is Mia, she annoyed me. A lot. I can't get over how bad is her character and it totally ruined some parts for me, but if you overlook that it's a nice book.

So I started out really liking the book, but near the end it just went down hill for me. I was annoyed with all the characters and I wanted to shout in their faces. Also, a lot of the time, I had no patience for Mia. She really got on my nerves.

Okay where to start. I guess I liked Will from the start. The way he just struck up a conversation to distract himself and the flight. How he was open to everyone and accepted everyone too. One of the quotes that will stick with me is “You have to teach your heart and mind how to sing together... then you'll hear the sound of your soul” I have already used it today talkgint ot someone about my own relationship and it makes perfect sense. Also I wanted to strangle Mia! My god woman, how cna you not see what is in front of you? WHy do you have to push someone who is clearly right in front of you begging for your attention away? Ugh, you are frustrating but I did love the story and also I loved Jackson even though he was a dog. It made me think about my own Samantha who I call grandma. I will be just as sad as Mia and have a total break down.
