This gritty thriller was worth staying up late into the night.

It’s not a bad hook, just was not it for me. It moves back and forth between the past and present - the past was definitely more interesting than the future which made it much more slower and tedious

Overall this book was pretty good. I liked the back and forth between Laura and Andy's chapters. It really helped you understand the whole story.
It was the cult aspect that kinda lost me. I definitely see how Nick persuaded them, it just seemed to be a little odd. I don't understand what his true motivations behind it were. I guess to control people
This book really was a wild ride. I wasn't expecting a lot of what happened but it was pieced together really nicely.

I felt so bad for Laura. It seems like she went from one bad relationship to another.
I was absolutely floored by the fact that those pictures were actually Nicks doing
I was so happy to see her stand up for herself and then you got to see Andy do the same.

I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. Like I was wondering why that happened. But then the flashbacks happened and I was bored and didn’t care. I felt we didn’t need all that. Also it was very plot twisty which was a bummer. Also the main character was honestly annoying and stupid. This is the least graphic of her books so if you don’t like really disturbing things this might be the now to pick up from her.

One of my favorite things about reading is being pulled into a story, so completely that you forget about the world going on around you. Its my escape from reality.
Karin Slaughter is a damn queen. She is in a league all her own with her story telling capabilities, and the way she grabs you so fiercely from the first few pages and doesn't let go until you are left gasping for air after you've read the last word.
There were several parts in this book that I actually stopped breathing. Holding my breath as I was trying to read faster to get over that precipice, but I'd just find myself climbing higher up that mountain.

This is only my third KS book and I am here for everything.  Every brutal moment, every tender one. Every middle finger in the air, you can't touch me anymore moment.
