The ending needed to be about 4 times longer, but it was an exciting and interesting story!

3.5 STARS!! i am a sucker for vampires (no pun intended), and as someone who comes from a mexican-immigrant family i was VERY excited to read this book!! i am very familiar with the nahuatl as my mother has spoken to me about them many times, so it was SO cool to see words and names indigenous to that culture. and although i adored the world building and Atl as a protagonist, by the end i didn’t end up liking it as much as i did ☹️ the main thing that stood out to me was the romantic subplot. and i LOVE romantic subplots, but with this story i found myself wishing there wasn’t one. maybe it’s just me, but it felt forced (not to mention it’s a relationship between a 23 year old and a 17 year old but i digress). i also found myself wanting more of everything else!! more about the other vampires!! more about Atl!! and just more about the other characters in general!! although i want to thank Silvia for the story, the world, and the representation.
