As the cover alludes, there are a lot of secrets in Hidden Creek. Trouble is you won't find many answers in book one.
Typical rival bad boys and drama-ridden girls in this guilty pleasure read.

Multiple times in this book I rolled my eyes and thought “how stupid.” Everyone knows secrets but no one will speak of them - even to their best friend and girlfriend they supposedly love!? We’d didn’t really do it for me either. The constant cloud of smoke around him is gross for starters. And then there’s the fact he continues to lie to aria and doesn’t care. Not to mention he stares at and comments on Charlottes boobs multiple times? Not really my kind of H.
And Aria is just an idiot. Is she suppose to be written up strong? Because right now she just looks pathetic to me. Wes lies and sneaks off and then she apologizes to him! For being upset about!! Lame. Man up Aria and make him work for it at least.
2 stars because I will read on and hope book 2 is better. If not I’ll have to let it go!

This book is everything

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I heard about this book/series. It’s the first book I’ve read by a male author.

After reading it, though…THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING. From page 1 I was sucked in. I couldn’t put it down.

Aira is the girl next door with hidden secrets and an underlying “bad” side, while Wes is the bad boy with his own secrets. Torn apart when they were little, after Aira’s life is burned down, they find themselves facing the feelings that had been developing since childhood. You expect them to fall in love, and you know they’ll face challenges.

The book ends on a cliffhanger (though not like some of the ones I’ve read in other books).

I am so glad I decided to take a chance on this author, and can’t wait to read book 2.

This book pulled me in right from the first page and I devoured it. Aira and Wes’s relationship is believable and you find yourself rooting for them and shouting at them at the same time. All the characters in this book steal a little bit of you and make you want to know more. I laughed, stressed, smiled throughout this book and I’m really looking forward to see what happens.

Bit PG for me

Hate that chest was used for boobs. Makes the sexy scene flat. Chemistry is a bit bleh for h and H, no build up, it was just there next minute. Not enough secrets came out to keep me interested. Not sure I can read the rest to get me to Bay.

The question of the identity of Willy Wonka is now up for debate.
I mean sure you go on the chocolate river, this time it’s one wild ride and you don’t know which way your going right till the end.
Is he really the one of the seven dwarfs taking us on a journey till we eat that apple and only at the end will we have the prince wake us. Oh, wait sure that’s how the story goes but I truly know who Willy Wonka is, ‘gasp’ he’s actually the mirror, that innocent little mirror that plays with their minds. So, Mirror Mirror on the wall – I need the next book now

Hidden Creek Secrets is the first book in the series of Hidden Creek High by J. Kidman.
And for me, it was kind of a pointless reading.
Aria used to live in Hidden when she was little, but right after she gave her heart to a boy-next-door, they moved away. But now, when she doesn't have anything, she is back. And her puppy love can't believe she is here. Weslee's changed since they were little, but so has she. He is rougher, tougher, kind of a criminal and a bad guy in the town. However, there is nothing that could change Aria's view of him. They've loved each other since they were kids and now they are finally together. Or are they?
The secrets in Hidden are a bigger problem than one would think- everyone has a secret. So gossips, lies, rumours, all of this is spread around the people of Hidden. Can their secrets stay hidden as well?
If you are looking for easy reading with some mystery, bad boys, drama and all of that, go for it. It's worthy. But I think the author wasted the ideas and could work on it more and better. The reason why I kept reading was that I wanted to know what are the secrets about. I couldn't be that empathic with the characters since I didn't like them. Even the romance wasn't that great. And to be honest, even the secrets weren't worth my time.
Btw. I finished this book yesterday and since I can't even remember the story well, it says everything unspoken here.

So this book is strictly OKAY. Not great but not terrible. Nothing distinctly is wrong with it- good writing, good plot. However, I just wasn’t connected enough with the characters to continue on. Also the plot is mega confusing because half the time they are talking about secrets and rivals but it never explains any of it. Maybe it explains it in later books but it would be nice to know at least some of it to understand what is going on in the plot.
