I was sent this book as an advanced copy by the publisher via Edelweiss for reviewing purposes, but all opinions are my own.
This was very mediocre...
I was really enjoying the first half but, like Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkenan's first book, [b:The Wife Between Us|34189556|The Wife Between Us|Greer Hendricks|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1496862122l/34189556._SY75_.jpg|55227731], the second half was incredibly predictable, which brought the book down for me.

Another enticing read by Greer Hendricks. I always enjoy her books, but this is the first one I've listened to with audio. It's another example of a suspenseful, psychological thriller, but not too graphic and no hardcore language. I particularly liked the MC use of data throughout the novel and even though there were many characters, they were easy to define even while not having written print to help. Some good twists and turns!

I enjoyed reading this book. It was a slower read than I'm used to, but the wait was worth it. Shay is a girl that wants to belong somewhere. She witnesses a suicide that changes her life forever. Shay becomes involved with the people that were close to Amanda (the girl who committed suicide). Shay thinks that Amanda's friends are becoming her friends as well. What Shay doesn't realize is that Amanda's friends set her up for murder. Shay has lost everything and goes on the run, trying to clear her name. This book is a thriller until the very end.

I quite enjoyed this book. There were a few things I thought incongruous with Shay’s character once she starts becoming aware…the naïveté, the not adding up 2+2 and getting 4…for someone with such an analytical mind. But other than that I thought this book was pretty great.

This was the book that we read this last month in my book club. We tend to read a lot of doom and gloom books, which gets me out of my happy cookie cutter Hallmark ending books.
This suspenseful book did not disappoint. It’s a murder mystery book (but you don’t really know about the murder until the end). This book jumps back and forth between past and present. It also jumps back and forth between different POV. I am normally not a fan of that because books tend to get confusing when they do that. But the different POV’s and time frames is what makes this book so suspenseful and tense. The way the book was laid out sent me on a ride. Especially when reading about the Moore sisters.
I didn’t really like the main character though. She seemed very naive for a 30-something year old. Although, you could just chalk that up to her ignoring so many things happening around her in her desperate need for connection and friends.
I am usually good at being able to predict what happened or what is going to happen in a book but this book had one bit of information that had me stunned at the end.
I ended up really liking this book and would recommend it to anyone who likes suspenseful books.
