I wouldn’t have started it if I’d known how much transphobic content there would be. Not well written, but I guess I can see why it’s popular?

Spectacular vernacular, intriguing storyline, detailed research and imagery, and mind-boggling plot twists. Enjoyed this as much as Angels and Demons!

Definitely better than the first, more intriguing and although not 100% correct in its factual/historical basis, the true definition of a page-turner. Splendid job.

A very compelling thriller, fun to think about and attempt to puzzle out, but not great writing.

I just got back from a trip to Paris and Italy, seeing a lot of references to DaVinci and other Renaissance art. I’ve never seen nor read The DaVinci Code before, and figured reading a book taking place somewhere I just visited would be fun. Being able to visualize and recognize where the characters are definitely added to my enjoyment of this book.

I enjoy reading about mysteries, codes and puzzles - so watching them try to solve a big mystery was enjoyable. I blazed through the book as it kept me thoroughly engaged and curious.

I had 0 expectations about this book going in - I know its had a lot of controversy in the past, and had a lot of hype when it first came out. As that was a long time ago - they hype has really worn down to non-existence. A lot of other reviews mention it “doesn’t live up to the hype” - if you’re interested in mystery, the region it takes place in, and being able to solve some puzzles yourself, this book is enjoyable.
