At first I got some Pippa Grant vibes. You know, quirky heroine and manly man. I didn’t think there would be any kind of wacky… but when you meet his family, and a little wacky is what you get.
That’s where the comparisons end though. Kyra writes this in Ria’s POV and I love how fascinating her brain is. The recklessness. The delight. And the pain.
Let me get back on track, this is an enemies to lovers that goes into a fake relationship and we all kind of know where that goes.
What I didn’t expect as I was reading was the butterflies that I got when Ria got them. The giggles that came out of me when Adrien did something. The tears that fell when I didn’t expect it.
While there were things I didn’t like, the joy and feelings I got made it all worth it. I haven’t felt this way in a long time. Maybe I needed this book now. I’m pretty sure I did and I’m thankful for it.
