I listened to this on audio.

I almost DNF'd this at like 35% and I am so glad I didn't!!!
This book was a gem!
Historical Fiction Romance from an overseas point of view- yessss please !
Normally the historical fiction books I read take place in America and how Americans were impacted by WWII (love WWII history) but this story takes place in Poland.
It really opened my eyes to a different point of view of what happened during the war in different countries.
This story was beautiful I started to piece together what the "mystery" was before it was reveled and I'm not even mad about it.
Please whatever you do read this book, I promise it is worth it.

3 1/2 Very interesting story. Dramatic circumstances, but story still seemed a little too dramatic for me at times (May have been the narrator as I listened instead of read) and some of the situations with the characters behavior was a little repetitive. Still a good story and I’m glad I finished it. Very good ending.

I always enter WWII literature with a sense of trepidation. This novel was challenging to read at times though it is very well written. I appreciated that it osolated between present day and the historical timeline. I loved the characters and the writing style.

Tried this as an audiobook and couldn’t get into the story in small chunks. Would try as physical copy.
