The book is great but I’ve read soo many books by this author now that I’ve found the plot a bit too predictable. I will definitely be back to finish it but maybe in a year or so.

This is a story told by a mom to her sonabout her great love.
How through many years apart and ages vast they still beamed with love for each other and how this love was so consuming it hurt those around them.
Hidden truths, betrayal and a love that defies all. The Italian Girl leaves readers in tears aching for more.

I usually love Lucinda Riley's books, but this one didn't really grip me. I found the main characters to be quite unlikable, and despite the title, a lot of the book is set in England - I'd at least have preferred the escapism of a lovely warm Italian setting!
