2.5 stars, audiobook. A heavy dose of Christmas magic. At times preposterous and at times funny yet heartbreaking. You will keep reading because you want to understand how this could possibly happen.

VERY heavy on the magical realism, almost too much for me and I love magical realism. It's absurd. Absolute absurdity. But in a great way. Just go with it. It all ends well. Of course.

I listened to the audiobook. I got my hopes up with a Christmas book by James Patterson but I shouldn’t have. It wasn’t poorly written or bad, it just wasn’t good either. It was just there. I was hoping for more mystery but overall there wasn’t one and the ending didn’t really sum up anything. I didn’t feel connected to the characters. This is probably a great one for an early teen for a silly Christmas themed book but it just didn’t do anything for me.
