It was really hard for me to get on board with this book. Although it appears the two main characters really love one another deep down, the violence in the beginning (ie the heroine is smashed into a stall wall in a bathroom because he is mad to see her out to dinner with an ex) turned me off. I understood it was going to have a lot of darkness given the topic, but I just couldn't get past how he seemed abusive and toxic in the beginning and she just breezed over that and fell for him anyway. I just have a problem with that personally as a storyline... However I did find the writing very well done and the story kept me interested. I just couldn't get on board with the romance aspect.

I can’t believe this book!
It was the most beautiful book I’ve read in a while! Omg! Lily and Lucas fit together so well. The issues they dealt with and how they faced their problems and insecurities head on was beautiful and inspiring! You’d think two addicts would take each other towards their downfall but these two fought against those odds and made it out. The book wrapped up everything perfectly! All the way down to baby Ettie and Lucas finally getting the mom he so desperately wanted! This book was beautifully written and I’m glad i got to read it!

J.M. Walker is one of my favorite authors and I always enjoy the roller coaster ride of deep emotion's. I loved the journey of Lucas and Lily. They have both come from 'broken' tragedy and come together to try and heal each other. It is a powerful story that I just jumped into with both feet. If you like heartbreak then you will like this one. I give it a 1 Million Star Review..especially the added extra's at the end of the book. I do not want to give too many details..as I want the reader to sit back and go along for the ride.

Worth the read
Took a little bit to get into this one, but once you do it, was a great read. Absolutely loved Lucas.

Well well well...this was one HELL of a book!
It’s been a long while since it took me 5 days to finish a boom but with this? I needed to take A LOT of seconds lol. I’m a no triggers kind of girl and Broken Scars definitely touches on hella triggers; rape, child pornography, child abuse, attempted murder, drug addiction, prostitution, alcoholism...you name it.
So this is Lucas & Lily’s story. I loved most everything about this books. I love the strength of Lily and her will to simply want to be better! She cleaned up her act, started living with her gma and dumped her sorry sack of a boyfriend and basically fell into Lucas’ lap.
Lucas Crane owns a tattoo shop and has had the worst childhood you can imagine. But through that and his PTSD he’s tried to live as normal of a life as possible and then Lily walks Into his shop.
These two addicts are hooked on each other from the start, I mean it’s truly a love story for the books. It’s got a great bad guy, a decent motive behind his bad-guy-ness and then a HUGE plot twist and amazing bonus scenes! I loved every word of said book. Ah and the sex! SHEESH! It’s steamy and sexy and dirty and...WHEW!
I will say, before this review gets super lengthy lol, my only hiccup was that I feel like the whole “hacker” thing fell to the waist side. And then also like their jobs...after the first maybe 15 chapters...they never go to work or talk about money or really anything regular life related. like..what? how are y’all surviving, how are y’all eating!!

Holy Amazing!
Talk about a rollercoaster ride! This book had me ecstatic, pissed off, tearing up, screaming, laughing and loving! Definitely one to read as long as you can handle some deep and dark issues. But it had an amazing HEA!
