In a word: underdeveloped
Tropes: Grumpy-Sunshine
Spice: 0/5
Rating: 2.5/5
Summary
Review
I liked the first half of the book better than the second, personally. I loved how much I hated Ryan for Lanie. Huge red flags. BUT,
The pacing felt very off in the second half of the book.
The questionable:
- There's more chemistry between Lanie and Ryan than Lanie and the love interest
- Very predictable plot turns
Overall, if you like the description I would recommend reading "Book Lovers" by Emily Henry instead.

Spoiler
at least Ryan was actually interesting. Noah was like a blank slate for Lanie to push all her impressions on.The pacing felt very off in the second half of the book.
Spoiler
Out of the inspo dates they plan, they only actually make it to two of them? The questionable:
- There's more chemistry between Lanie and Ryan than Lanie and the love interest
- Very predictable plot turns
Overall, if you like the description I would recommend reading "Book Lovers" by Emily Henry instead.

Listened to this one on Audible.
Really enjoyed the MMC. The FMC...I was a little confused as to her behavior in the beginning. She is privy to a pretty big secret and the way she reacts is a little farfetched to me. I get it...but not so much when you take into account her relationship with the MMC.
As the book continued, she got better and stops being a dumb girl, but it was still a little off putting to me. I loved Noah and wanted more of his story.

The beginning was messy tbh but this ended up being really cute by the end.

skim read from page 100, found it boring and the characters underdeveloped. I didn’t believe in the relationship and the story wasn’t interesting enough without it, for me.
