beginning was horribly slow. first two hundred pages i kept visiting the thought of not finishing it and shelving the book. however, the last two hundred or so pages were phenomenal. i enjoyed that the author offered something different than what is usually offered — two friends having a row, love spinning around something beyond a romantic affair between a man and a woman. for the twisted middle and ending, i’d give this a read.

When Mel hears that her university best friend is getting divorced, she invites her for an open ended visit. It wont take long (but it kind of does) for Mel to regret inviting Abi back into her life.

I found this book to be long and painfully predictable.
Not in a ... "ohh I hope this happens",more of a ... "UGH I bet THIS is going to happen."
The characters did not pull me in... they frustrated me and were not likable.
The plot was ok, but as I said predictable.

With so many books in this genre it can be tough to stand out and I'm afraid this book did not.
Unfortunately in a few weeks I will probably forget all about it.
I think if the book had been shorter, I would have enjoyed it more.

It was “ok”. I found the characters lacked depth and the story line was fairly predictable. The relationship between the two women was cringeworthy and the writing style was simple and full of cliches. This a my first book by this author and I don’t think I will seek out others.

Probably go for a 3.9/4 star. Lots of plot twists and got very good towards the end!! Just a bit of a slow start. Still worth the read for sure!

I Invited Her In by Adele Parks is a disturbing look at guilt, remorse, revenge and resentment. It follows the life of Mel and her family and the disfunction that occurs when a long lost friend reappears.

I enjoyed reading this book and found it easy to follow. The characters were all very interesting and I felt myself feeling everything that the main character Mel felt. The loneliness, the mistrust and the disbelief - I felt them all. Such a crazy ride!

I would recommend this to lovers of psychological thrillers.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of this book.

I enjoyed this one. I did not anticipate the twists at the 60% mark and the multi POV really helped propel the story.

With having read MANY thrillers.... and i am very picky with this genre that it takes a lot to impress me. I have read some amazing thrillers but unfortunately this one didnt work for me.

The premise sounded promising with inviting a long lost girlfriend into your home and her taking everything. But, In my opinion, these stories have to have twists, edginess, and keeping you on your toes and then leave you shocked due to that ending that shocks you. This book had nothing like what i said above.

For starters, the story was WAY too long and dragged on.The story was predictable and I knew what happened before it happened. I think the author could have taken such a thrilling ride with this one and she missed the mark completely on this one. And, the characters were too cliche. I could say more but im just leaving this bit.

Im in the minority btw
