The jump in time with no warning took me out of the story. At least put Past or Present in the chapter title if you're going to do 2 separate timelines. I was interested in the teen's storyline at the beginning but don't care enough about the characters [didn't feel like there was enough of a chance to either] to want to read them as adults. The concept is interesting but not enough backstory explained for what the parasites are and why they exist.

DNF

I just couldn't get past the slugs. Ugh.  Plus, the art style wasn't doing it for me (everyone had giant lips! It wasn't what I was expecting from the cover!) and I really didn't care about the characters.  Read about 20 pages and then gave up.
