A poignant tale about loneliness and duty told with humour in Gauld's unique style.

This is an amazingly entertaining read with a clear sense of isolation felt through just the pictures.I would highly recommend this book and Gauld's work in general, such as his comic strip collections.

Not the type of book I normally read, this was a quick book that reflects on the disappointments of unfulfilled expectations and the essential need for relationships with others.

I love Tom Gauld's work, both long and short form. This is a beautifully illustrated work in Gauld's immediately recognisable minimalist style. It's mostly silent but little happens but it's beautifully suggestive and melancholy.
