This book hit me like a freight train from the very first page. 

Lauren J. A. Bear has written a masterpiece of a mythological retelling with this unexpected, heartwrenching take on Medusa's story. The characters of Stheno and Euryale were so authentic and deeply developed that often I forgot I was reading and got lost in their narratives. 

This book is an emotional journey, from start to finish, so buckle up and grab what is, in my opinion, one of the best books of the year.
