Pretty good! Nice characters, decent plot. Will definitely look to this series when I'm in need of some light comfort reading.

Set in contemporary Connecticut, two librarians try to solve the murder of a reclusive children's book author. A simple, cozy mystery.

This book checked all my boxes: A library, set in Connecticut, a mystery, a children's librarian, a series. Looking forward to picking up book 2 Due or Die.

Why are the Large Print versions of books so often so hideous? Ug. My library only had this in LP, so here we are. I've read McKinlay's other two cozy series, but hadn't gotten around to starting this one. I didn't love it. It's probably my least favorite of the three. But I liked it well enough to keep reading, so...here's hoping it improves.

I discovered this book while reading Jenn McKinlay's cupcake mystery books. I love those books and have been looking forward to the next installment. I decided to give this series a shot, I enjoyed it. It kept me engaged and I did want to know who the murderer was but I didn't find myself liking the characters as much as I like them in McKinlay's other series. I can't decide if it is just because it is the first of the series and I don't know them as well as the other or if I honestly don't like them as much. I have decided to give the next installment a try to fully determine if I like this series.

This book is a wonderful upbeat page turner! It has a great cast of characters, and of course I loved the library references. I am happy to have found a series of books that is light and smart at the same time. I look forward to reading more!

Books,murder,and comfort food!

A well-written tale about a murder in a small North eastern town. Silky smooth hot cocoa, New England clam chowder, children's books and a book club serve as the supporting cast to our amateur sleuths as the solve the murder of one of the town's residents.
