I love the brief story of Beren and Luthien in the Silmarillion and this book has every version that Tolkien wrote in his lifetime, both in story and in prose form. It was interesting to read the different versions.

Absolutely beautiful. I loved all the poetry parts. It’s a shame JRR Tolkien never finished it because then it could have been a masterpiece, but Christopher Tolkien did his best with what was left to him.

An interesting collection of manuscripts from JRR Tolkien put together by his son recount the tale of Beren and Luthien. A tale of love and bravery, of daring escapes and breathtaking chases through the woods. Be advised that the tale is told in verse for the most part, so you should take that into account when getting the book.
