"Scarlet Angel" continues with Lana and Logan's story. Lana is beginning to really fall for Logan, and she is even considering what a future without the need for revenge might look like. Unfortunately, she has started this journey, and she has to finish.
We all know what Lana is doing is wrong: hunting down her tormenters and torturing them to death. But I cannot help but feel for her and her story. She went through something so entirely horrific, and she has devoted her life to seeking revenge. She is strong, powerful, and smart. I want nothing more than for her to have her happy ending, especially with Logan. I am growing increasingly curious what will happen when Logan finds out who Lana really is.
This particular installment was fine, but not my favorite. I think it laid a lot of groundwork that will be important in the rest of the story, but consequently was not super interesting on its own. I am VERY curious to see more of the dynamic between Lana and Hadley.
I cannot wait to continue with this story.

Okay now that that little tidbit is out of the way. It sucks to say that I slightly disliked this book compared to the first two (I rated the first two 4 stars) and I honestly think that's just personal preference on my part. This is the book where Hadley really finds out and Lana is faced with her first in-person obstacle. Now, I think I'm just too much of a Lana stan that seeing her in any trouble whatsoever makes me uneasy. And also, I think it doesn't help that I'm just not a fan of Hadley's character. Also, based on my observation of this book, I think it's really the plot that's moving Lana and Logan's relationship. Like I feel more connected to them, but I still feel like there isn't much substance to their relationship. Also, I'm going to suspend my disbelief, but at this point, I find it unbelievable that Logan is portrayed as a master profiler who can just look at a picture and solve a case, but he still hasn't figured out that it's Lana when so many things are pointing to that. Maybe he's "blinded by love" or something.
Not gonna lie, this book is a little forgettable up until the last 25%.

TW for the series but mostly so in the laat 1/4 of this book for rape and sexual assault. Theres a flashback in this book that was really intense so heads up for that!
Otherwise I cant wait to read the next one, its just got very juicy and Im excited to see where the next book takes us on Lana's journey.
