The Bone Artists, by Madeleine Roux

A good addition to the Asylum world. This predates the Asylum series and is a side story about Oliver who is trying to save money for college. Oliver and his friend Micah rob graves for a creepy lady who has hired the boys to do her bidding. After they successfully steal some bones for her, they swear they won't do it again. However, that's when friends and family die in terrible circumstances and Oliver receives cryptic text messages to goad him into robbing more graves. This ends on a cliffhanger, so this is a cool miniseries within the larger series.

Madeleine Roux keeps getting better as a writer. Enjoying her work this year!

It was ok I guess. Didn't really see how it improves the story of the books and found it to be a bit unnecessary BUT it was fun to read and I guess it must be a great expansion for the die-hard fans of the series.
Very quick read so can't complain :)

Spanish/English Review.

Out of the 2 short novels in this series (not including Escape from Asylum because I consider it more of a short book than a novella). I feel like this one had mor depth and more context of the secret society while in The Scarlets it was exaggeratedly vague.

In the The Bone Artists, we go to Micah's past, who we met in Sanctum and a new character, Oliver. The story was a bit more creepy and given my love for conspiracy theories, I loved how Oliver didn't trust the situation throughout the novel.

I won't give out more spoilers, but with this novella I felt a rush of commitment to read Catacomb.

The Bone Artists are a secret society that has existed within the college campus for years. Anybody who jeopardizes that secret faces serious consequences. Anybody who makes the society members unhappy or hurts any of them faces serious consequences as well.

I really enjoyed this! I feel like we got a little bit of a background from before the trio meets the members in the second book. We get to see that Micah wasn't always a good and nice guy. He was once just as evil as all the rest of them.

The only things I didn't like was that it was so short. I'd of loved to find out more about the society that they kind of brushed over in the second book and in this book. I get why it was so short though. It was a great and easy read and I'm glad I was able to see some background on the society.

I do fully recommend this book. I recommend that you read the trilogy before you read the novellas though. All are really great reads. I enjoyed them all greatly. I still need to read Escape The Asylum, but that is something I'm definitely looking forward to!

+“Ain’t nothing wrong with having a healthy fear of what you don’t understand.”

-Oliver ☠

+I'll be honest with this story, I didn't like it. Yes, its short, I anticipated with the awesome cover. It was all a lie. After thinking over and over how cool this book would be.

+meh!

+It means nothing. Short & only thought provocative words.

+Micah is an asshole. Yes. Oliver is dumb. What else?! The story will just give you headaches, too many holes. To be honest, the three “NOVELLAS” should be JUST one book. But why on earth did the writer think to separate it?! Seriously??? The warden, The Scarlets and the Bone Artists?! It will put you in misery. If you haven't notice.

+Or maybe that is the writer ways of saying there's more!!! I bet on it!

+Oh well, giving 2 stars is not a waste of time isn't it?

+I still need to know more about them. Dan and the other characters. PLEASE!

+Recommended to every person who read the series.

P.S.
My advice is READ THE SERIES in ORDER. So you won't be confused.*wink*
