"One thing I know: For helping me forget how awful the world is, I prefer her to alcohol."

I just want to go back and jump into the world of Divergent all over again. Seeing things in Four's perspective is the best thing ever that I want more.

I would rate this book 3 stars. The book did hook me in and the story was well written but I felt like the story had a very cliche plot line. Most of the time I would guess what was happening but the fun part of this book was the fact that it was a prequel to the Divergent series.Since, I’d already read the Divergent series I could see why Four did some of the things he did in the series and get to know him better as a character. It was also really cool seeing how his past tied up some of the loose ends from the Divergent series. I would probably recommend this story to a friend if they have read the Divergent series or at least the first book. I feel like a person who doesn’t have the background information of this storyline wouldn’t enjoy it as much as I did.

I enjoyed this book because I loved the Divergent series. There is A LOT of detail that is missing and could confuse readers who have not read Divergent. Overall I liked seeing the story from Four’s perspective.
