I don’t recall the documentary series that this book was based on, but what a joy to read so many articulate accounts of revelatory experiences from such a diverse selection of people. I was struck by the similarities between many of the accounts, just as you find in any study of Mysticism. A fascinating, moving and enriching book.
4 stars rather than 5 as it is from 1985 and the way in which the interviewer speaks to the actress Sarah Miles is rather sexist and made me cringe enormously.
