Want to start by saying IF YOU ARE EXPECTING GONE GIRL, YOU WILL NOT LIKE IT. The only aspect that is similar is a cheating husband. It isn't really a thriller in my opinion either. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. Todd is an insufferable prick through-and-through who is given endless opportunity and has no capacity for self-reflection. Despite finding Jodi somewhat annoying, obsessive, and inhuman, she does eventually rub off on you. I was invested in her revenge the whole way through and was happy with the outcome for her.
I think it was more realistic that she felt a little remorse and it didn't end with her being overjoyed and perfectly well-off. But the child abuse part was so shoehorned in at the last minute. Maybe other people felt differently. It was off-putting and unnecessary in my opinion
Otherwise, great book! Couldn't put it down.
