I enjoyed Vivian and Niko's story.

"'Only you, Honey Bee. I think you were mine the first time I met you. I think you've always been mine.' 'And you've always been mine,'"

I really struggle to connect with this book. Cute story of friends to lover but was not my favorite.

I’m a sucker for a friends to lovers, and I enjoyed this book. It was simple and had no third act breakup, which I was happy about. I don’t think it was the most well organized, and I do think there were some repetitive sentences throughout the book.

It’s definitely not a slow burn, which I like, but I do feel like there could have been a little more buildup to Niko and Vivienne’s relationship. I would have liked to see them more as friends, instead of almost immediate FWB.

I always love when it’s a grump MC who only shows their soft spot for their BFF/SO, and Niko did not disappoint. His friendship and background with Vivi really got to me. He’d been through so much, and Vivienne was there for him throughout it all. Vivienne’s backstory definitely had me in tears at times, mainly because I really understood and identified with what she’d been through.

Overall, it was a cute story, and I’ll continue to read the series. I just hope the next book is a little more polished.

I am a sucker for a good friends to lovers book and this checked all the boxes for me.
Niko had a hardened exterior for everyone except his best friend since kindergarten, Vivian. Lovingly called “Honey Bee.” Their connection was beautiful from the beginning of the book. What I also appreciated is that Laura did not wait to give us any spice. I feel like we got a really well rounded story. The other thing that I really loved about this book is many FMC are timid or give the vibe of being meek because of their past traumas. But Vivi didn’t and I really loved that. She was super loving and tender hearted but didnt give off the vibe of being weakened by her circumstances. It was so refreshing to read her character.
And her family was everything. I loved the supporting characters just as much as the main. Dylan may or may not be my spirit animal. Lol.
I loved the whole book. Great read for 2022.
