A classic friends to lovers romance with some decent plot mixed in with the spicy times. This book even made me cry a little bit!

No doubt about it, this was absolutely adorable at times. Still, at times I couldn't really connect with the characters.

I love the Thomas family that this series is gonna be centered around and I'm definitely gonna pick up the next one to give this series a proper second chance.

I'm always here for a good friends-to-lovers but this was basically already lovers from the start so when they started hooking up, the change in dynamic just happened a bit too quickly for me.

Can't even say I dislike Niko because he was a bit bland lol. Also hated how averse he was to getting therapy šŸ§ red flag

Still, Vivi and Niko had some proper "AWWW" moments and especially toward the end we got the proper dramatic scenes with protective hero that you know I love šŸ¤

Hoping the next one suits me better!

I would say: I finished it.
But thatā€™s all.
I didnā€™t find it particularly original. It was pretty redundant. There is no third act breakup (not that i am really fund of it), no true plot.
Everything is predictable.

1 thing annoys me: since the fisrt quarter of the book it is cleary stated that it will be a second book with the older sisterā€¦ hey but how about having the first story done before?

Check the trigger warning, there is part quite difficult to read.

If you loved the Nash Brothers series by Carrie Aarons, Iā€™ve got a series for you!

Small town romance āœ…
Childhood friends to lovers āœ…
Childhood trauma āœ…
Swoony love story for the ages āœ…

This is the first book of the 5 book Honey Mountain series and Iā€™m here for it.
He was a tortured but romantic firefighter named Niko that lived in darkness his whole life except when he was with Vivi- his ray of sunshine, honey bee.
This is more than just a sweet and spicy romance story! I loved the relationship between all the sisters. The part with the abuse that Niko faces as a child and the loss that Vivi as a teen make for one heck of a book. Yā€™all seriously Iā€™m in love! I absolutely didnā€™t want this book to end I needed an epilogue to the epilogue! Canā€™t wait for books 2-5!

Why did I put off reading this for so long? This book was amazing. The friends to lovers trope is a favorite of mine because friendship is such an important quality in a relationship. I love how well Niko and Vivi already knew each other and how seamlessly they became lovers.

This book does have some pretty tough triggers, but they were handled so well and I thought both of their pasts really shaped who they were as individuals and really strengthened their love. I love how even as kids they were always there for the important albeit difficult moments for each other.

I love reading about small towns. The love and togetherness of the people is so neat - but I'll let those stay fiction. I am a city girl through and through.

I love how Pavlov weaved in some suspense and mystery. It added to the plot perfectly. I absolutely can't wait to start book 2.
