If you loved the Nash Brothers series by Carrie Aarons, I’ve got a series for you!

Small town romance
Childhood friends to lovers
Childhood trauma
Swoony love story for the ages

This is the first book of the 5 book Honey Mountain series and I’m here for it.
He was a tortured but romantic firefighter named Niko that lived in darkness his whole life except when he was with Vivi- his ray of sunshine, honey bee.
This is more than just a sweet and spicy romance story! I loved the relationship between all the sisters. The part with the abuse that Niko faces as a child and the loss that Vivi as a teen make for one heck of a book. Y’all seriously I’m in love! I absolutely didn’t want this book to end I needed an epilogue to the epilogue! Can’t wait for books 2-5!

Why did I put off reading this for so long? This book was amazing. The friends to lovers trope is a favorite of mine because friendship is such an important quality in a relationship. I love how well Niko and Vivi already knew each other and how seamlessly they became lovers.

This book does have some pretty tough triggers, but they were handled so well and I thought both of their pasts really shaped who they were as individuals and really strengthened their love. I love how even as kids they were always there for the important albeit difficult moments for each other.

I love reading about small towns. The love and togetherness of the people is so neat - but I'll let those stay fiction. I am a city girl through and through.

I love how Pavlov weaved in some suspense and mystery. It added to the plot perfectly. I absolutely can't wait to start book 2.

"I'd given her the name Honey Bee when we were kids because we'd learned about them in school. I'd always been amazed at the way the the girl would buzz around spreading all her sweetness from one person to the next."

Vivian Thomas and Niko West have been best friends since they were kids. They have been by each other's sides through everything, all the loss, trauma, and ache; but also all the good moments and nights comforting each other.

Vivian is single for the first time in a long time and is ready to change and not be that relationship girl. Who else is better to show her a good time than her best friend, and a notorious player, Niko?

Thank you KU for another great read~

I love a good best friends to lovers story and after finishing A Long Time Coming, I knew I needed another one ASAP.

I highly recommend looking up TW/CW before diving into this book because they touch on some heavy topics, and the characters have a lot of trauma that they have to work through. I love the foundation of their relationship, and how they were there to support and stand up for each other through everything.

This book was definitely on the cheesy side and some of their dialogue was a little forced? But super sweet and they really loved each other. A great story about people overcoming their trauma and coming together and supporting each other. I also loved the entire Thomas family and cannot wait to read all about the sisters.
