I’m interested in this world, I think I will continue and read the main series at a later date.

Oh, really enjoyed seeing her as a kid! But it was a little hard to read, that she was in a bad situation, and yeah, that ending was just awful! All that work, gone like that!

This definitely made me want to read more about Chatine. I felt so bad for her, trying so hard to make a better life for herself and beaten down by her father and the society she's in. I also want to learn more about this other world.

I have already read Sky without Stars and am patiently waiting for Between Burning Worlds to arrive on Friday. So I just learned of this little story and decided to read it to get more background on Chatine. I love her so much! In this novella Chatine is only 8 years old and super sweet and innocent with hope for the future. She is doing everything the honest way and earning tokens by sweeping out a stall. Her father, the aspiring criminal, shatters her dreams and the new Chatine is born. I loved this backstory. I’d love to see one on Marcellus and Alouette.
