Even down to the feel and smell of the paper … this book is filled with so so much nostalgia for me. I know it so well that I’m not even reading a story anymore … just reliving how I felt the innumerable other times I read it throughout my childhood and early teen years. It’s a beautiful kind of magic.

A 'for the whole family' happy ending, as the genre and types of characters called for, if only a bit unnatural because even the antagonists hook up. This 'eco novel' is the best way to gently show children, via the beauty of the natural world, to love and care for their environment. The plot is by no means predictable a la 'disney', I found myself surprised by the extra thought put into it's construction. Definitely a must bedtime story for my unborn progeny.
